Jos, capital of Plateau State, situated in central Nigeria, was known as “the home of peace and tourism”. After more than a decade of relative peace and prosperity, the fragile equilibrium was shattered with a series of ethno-religious violence that led to the deaths of thousands, general breakdown of law and order, destruction of public and private properties, forced displacements, and an uncertain future.

The book is a heart-wrenching story of a state torn by religious and ethnic strife and tells of the suffering people endured during that period. The stories are as varied as they are entertaining. They highlight the different ways some have found to survive with dignity in times of absolute despair. This is a narration of events and stories by different people on the Jos crises in Nigeria, it tells you their different encounters and emotions from this event.
